WEATHER IN ALICANTE
The weather in Alicante is well known for a very mild climate. The humidity is low and is especially good for sufferers of arthritis. Covered in the north by small hills and further north by high mountains (about 1600 m high), the area keeps the Alicante weather in a kind of microclimate. This limits the rainy days to just about 20 per year. The average temperature, even in winter time, does not fall below 16° C.
The weather conditions might well also be a reason for the easygoing way of life you will find here, as well as the friendliness of people. There is no such thing as stress and the most important thing is to enjoy life!
SPRING. Late spring in Alicante brings warm, settled weather with the daily average rising to about 20 °C inland and about 22 °C on the Southern coast with around 9 hours of sun a day
SUMMER. Although Spanish summers are hot, with average temperatures of at least 29 °C, the Alicante coastal areas enjoy cooling sea breezes that reduce the temperatures to a more comfortable level. The summer brings an average 12 hours of sunshine each day with hardly any rain!
AUTUMN. Even in autumn, the Alicante sea stays warm and temperatures can reach up to 28 °C, even in November this will only fall to about 20 °C during the day. As the nights lengthen to daily sunshine reduces to an average of 6 hours.
WINTER. Winter in Alicante is relatively warm, with coastal daytime temperatures averaging at 15 °C, although further inland is noticeably colder, especially in the mountains
